After 7 years of research and development, the Boulder Designs ® product line has been available since 2008 .

Our rock boulder signs are 100% solid with no “hollow shell”. They have the strength to “last a lifetime”, are virtually maintenance free and are an environmentally friendly choice when compared to other products. For our commercial customers, a rock boulder sign will get attention and turn your location into a landmark.

Yes. Although most HOA's restrict signage, they typically are referring to signs such as advertising, commercial, for sale etc. Our address & welcome boulders are usually classified as landscape improvement or yard art...and not a sign.

Boulder Designs® of DFW products are constructed utilizing Boulder Designs® proprietary materials, equipment and techniques. Our products are similar to Cultured Stone with the added benefit of allowing us to customize the graphics. In addition, the finished product is similar to the look, feel, weight and durability of natural stone. There is no "hollow shell" within our products to weaken its strength. Depending upon the size and shape of your rock boulder, the average product weighs from 100 - 5,000 pounds…or more. Your custom-crafted rock boulder definitely has the strength to last a lifetime.

Yes. All the text and graphics are "chiseled" in to the rock and are NOT flat on the surface of the rock.

Yes. We can add graphics to both sides. The graphics can be the same on both sides or you can have different graphics on each side.

Some factors to consider when determining the size of your rock boulder are the amount of text/graphics that you want, where it will be seen, how far from the road it will be placed,  if it is going to be portable or permanent and, of course, your budget. You will also want to take in to consideration the rock color so your text/graphics really “pop” off of the rock. Like any sign, there is a limit to how much text/graphics that you can fit on a given area and still be readable and aesthetically pleasing.  A smaller simple address rock boulder would usually be located near the road while large boulders can be placed in the front yard, in the front garden bed or anywhere on the property. An additional option to consider is wiring the boulder with internal lighting so it can easily be connected to your existing outdoor lighting and be seen at night.

All of our products are custom-crafted at our manufacturing facility in Irving, Texas.

No. The color of the rock is the whole rock and not just on the surface. 

Yes. We deliver and install all our products within the DFW area and beyond.

Each rock boulder is individually custom-crafted using the Boulder Designs® proprietary equipment and designed around the content that you would like to appear on it. In addition, most of our commercial clients find that rock boulder signage is often allowed by zoning regulations where standard signage is not. Click here to tell us what you want.

Although the type of terrain (sandy, clay, rocky etc.) and the slope of the terrain affects the installation method, usually rock boulders less than 500-600 pounds and less than 36" tall are secured with a large metal stake. The boulders are manufactured with a 1 inch hollow “receiving tube” in the center of the boulder that the stake is set on. This keeps the boulders from shifting or being pushed over. They’re not going anywhere! A metal stake is included with each boulder. Larger boulders are installed with concrete footings. When we install your rock boulder, we will make sure that they are securely placed. All quotes will include the proper installation.

Very strong. Our proprietary composite mix has a compressive break strength of 3,500 PSI. Our larger boulder signs would actually meet the requirements for most state approved roads which means our signs could be laid down and literally hold up to rush hour traffic.

Virtually forever. Boulder Designs® of DFW rock boulders need little to no maintenance when compared to plastic, wood, or vinyl signage and will outlast most any other product. In addition, Boulder Designs® of DFW boulders are an environmentally friendly choice over plastic or vinyl signage.

We understand that some customers want to “know the price” before creating their design. Since every creation we produce is a one-of-a-kind custom piece, it is very difficult to give a specific price without knowing exactly what you want (size, shape, text, logo, graphics, colors etc.). Once the collaborative design process (between you and us) is completed, the manufacturing of your custom rock boulder generally takes between 3 - 5 weeks at which time your boulder will be delivered and securely placed.

Yes. We ship nationwide via UPS freight or flatbed trucking. We have very competitive rates for both shipping options. Call or email us for specific shipping costs to your location/zip code.

It's very simple. You set the bottle on the top of the rock dispenser with the neck of the bottle going down in to the rock. It works the same way as an office water cooler. It won't spill over.  Both Beverage Dispenser types can accept bottles up to 1.75L. The cost for a Beverage Dispenser is $289. This may vary a little based on the requested graphics.

Our Fire Pits can burn natural gas, LP or wood. You just tell us which one you would like prior to production.
